Sliced Tomato Salad

serves: 4
  Thick tomato slices with a simple vinaigrette.
Ingredients:
  2 lg.   tomatoes
  2 T.   olive oil
  2 T.   vinegar
  1 tsp.   sugar
    salt and pepper to taste
  2 tsp.   basil, optional
Directions:
  The tomatoes will be most flavorful if they are at room temperature. If they've been in the fridge, put them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds aftre slicing.

Slice the tomatoes into thick slices. Arrange on a serving plate. Drizzle with oil and vinegar (I prefer Balsamic vinegar with tomatoes), and sprinkle with sugar, salt, pepper, and optional basil.
