| This is a fantastic recipe that is almost as good as going to the restaurant! (only down side is have to cook yourself!!)
I had a hard time finding ground chicken, so used turkey instead...no down side to that. The recipe doesn't tell how much rice vinegar to use in the list of ingredient, so i guessed and used about 1 TBSP. another great addition would be the ingredient to the sauce they mix for you at PF Changs to put over them. (I winged it) Other than that, no complaints! Was fun to make these for my family, a new experience for them, never going to the restaurant themselves! Ill definitely make them again! p.s. I tripled the recipe for my family of 6, and had LOTS of leftovers. |

P.F.Chang’s Lettuce Wraps – I am telling you – salty, greasy, PERFECT. If you’ve ever had them, I bet you’ll agree. But sometimes they can be a little too greasy, know what I mean? |
Ingredients: |
1 LB |
GROUND CHICKEN BREAST |
1/2 |
MEDIUM ONION |
SALT AND PEPPER |
2 |
GARLIC CLOVES, MINCED |
GINGER |
1 tbsp |
soy sauce |
1/2 tbsp |
peanut butter |
1/2 tbsp |
water |
1/2 TBSP |
HONEY |
2 tsp |
chili garlic sauce |
3 |
green onions chopped |
1/2 |
80z can of water chestnuts, drained and chopped |
1/4 CUP |
Peanuts |
12 |
larger outer lettuce leaves |
1 tbsp |
sesame oil |
Directions: |
1. Heat a large, non-stick skillet on high. Add chicken, onion, salt & pepper, and cook until chicken is nearly done, stirring often to break up the meat. Add in minced garlic and ginger, and continue cooking until chicken is no longer pink.
2. Meanwhile, in a microwave safe bowl, combine sesame oil, soy sauce, water, peanut butter, honey, rice vinegar, chili garlic sauce and pepper. Microwave for 20 seconds, then stir until smooth. Add into the skillet and stir to combine.
3 Add green onion and water chestnuts into the skillet then cook for 1-2 minutes until the onions are soft and the water chestnuts are heated through.
4. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts, and serve with cold lettuce leaves
The water chestnuts in the mixture are a total must, in my opinion. They add a fabulous crispness and texture to the filling, that you wouldn’t get by just using ground chicken alone. You have to make these!
