Ingredients: |

1 box |
|
devil's food cake mix |
|
3 |
|
eggs |
|
1 c. |
|
water |
|
1/3 c. |
|
oil |
|
1 T. |
|
red food color |
|
1/2 c. |
|
butter, softened |
|
1 (8 pz.) pkg. |
|
cream cheese, softened |
|
1/2 bag |
|
powdered sugar |
|
1 tsp. |
|
clear vanilla |
|
|
|
sprinkles |
Directions: |
|
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 12 muffin cups with paper liners of choice.
Mix cake mix, eggs, water, oil, and red food color. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 20 min. Cool completely.
Whip together butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Add additional powdered sugar, 1/4 c. at a time, or milk, 1 tsp. at a time, to achieve desired consistency. Pipe frosting onto cupcakes. Immediately top with sprinkles. Refrigerate, uncovered, for 2 hours - overnight to allow frosting to set. Serve.
Cupcakes may be covered and stored up to an additional 48 hours before serving.
